Synopsis
SCREAM, ECHO. SCREAM. follows four nymphs who gather every century in a hidden grove—a sacred space where time stands still. They honor the fallen spirits of their kind while confronting the impact of humanity's disregard of the planet. As they mourn and celebrate, they find their voices and channel them into a powerful reckoning with time, mortality, and identity.
As their numbers dwindle and their lives reflect the state of the Earth, they are forced to ask: what will be left behind?

“‘Scream, Echo. Scream.’ highlights some of St. Louis’ most gifted young, femme-presenting artists. In a world where young women are too often boxed in as ingenues or oversexualized, this show offers something richer: characters worthy of their talents.” - Jacob Juntenen
“The themes of feminism, climate change, and mortality are woven together skillfully in Baer’s script.” - Gerry Kowarsky
“Under Lize Lewy’s adroit direction, interactions ranging from contentious to harmonious are continually filled with life in excellent performances by Kristen Strom as Peyto, Frankie Ferrari as Ozark, Sarah Lantsberger as Socotra, and the playwright as Echo.” - Gerry Kowarsky
“...an ethereal story with themes of unrequited love, oppression, and threats to the environment.” - James Lindhorst
“The incorporeal mood set by Lize Lewy’s direction evokes spiritually supernatural performances from Kristen Strom (Peyto), Summer Baer (Echo), Frankie Ferrari (Ozark), and Sarah Lantsberger (Socotra).” - James Lindhorst
“Strom, Baer, Ferrari, and Lantsberger’s offer arresting portrayals of the nymphs and the script's metaphysical concepts. The technical aspects are first rate, especially Baer’s set and the large tree centerstage. Erin Riley’s lighting accentuates Baer's intentional designs.” - James Lindhorst
“Frankie Ferrari balances bold humor with simmering heartbreak. Sarah Lantsberger moves from wide-eyed to world-weary with nuance. Kristen Strom traces a journey from composure to collapse with grace. Summer Baer is a powerhouse…” - Jacob Juntenen
“...intriguing and interesting and heartfelt all at once...” - Mark Bretz
